A proposal to Maple Park

Seed the Word

Bringing back young adults ministry and formal evangelism to Maple Park — led by the Holy Spirit, planted through the Word.

Presented by Edward and David

Slide 2 of 10

The need

Maple Park is hungry for the Gospel.

Edward has spent more than half his life in this neighborhood. The community needs the reviving power of Jesus — and the harvest is plentiful.

  • Young adults across the area without a meeting place
  • Newcomers to faith with no one to disciple them
  • Streets, restaurants, and homes ready for the Word
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." — Matthew 9:37-38 NIV

Who we are

Two friends, called by the Spirit, met through evangelism.

Edward and David came together on the streets, sharing Christ. From that meeting, the Lord built Seed the Word — a young-adult ministry committed to Scripture, fellowship, and giving away Bibles.

  • 30+ members across the region
  • 5–10 attending each meeting and outreach event
  • Reading Scripture, fellowship, and worship together

A prophetic word

"You will be one of the few in this state to give out Bibles."

After David's water baptism, in earnest prayer for a way to bear fruit for the Kingdom, a minister from Gideons International approached him with a word from the Holy Spirit. That word became our calling. Seed the Word is now part of the Gideons mission to spread God's Word wherever we can.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." — John 15:5 NIV
Speaker notes
Pause here. Tell the room David's testimony in his own words if he is present. If not, read the John 15 verse aloud and let it land. Mention that the Gideons minister is available as a reference if leadership wants to verify.

What God has already done

The Lord has been faithful in this work.

  • Evangelized, prayed, and handed out Bibles in multiple cities
  • Played worship music for guests in a restaurant
  • Wrote new songs to worship the Lord
  • Built a digital home for the ministry — testimonies, daily readings, and a global community of newcomers

Every Bible placed has been a seed the Spirit watered. Every new face has been God answering the prayer for laborers.

How we gather

A simple rhythm anyone can hold.

Every life group walks through five movements. They aren't a checklist — they're a rhythm the Spirit fills.

  • Worship & Prayer — we come to God first
  • Embrace Fellowship — the room becomes a body, not a crowd
  • Encounter Jesus in the Word — one chapter, sat with together
  • Reflection — four S.E.E.D. questions in plain language
  • How We Outreach — pray, eat, walk out sent

How we seed

Take a Bible home — only if you'd like to.

If you join us, you're welcome to take a Bible home for the week. We ask one thing:

In your prayer time, ask the Lord who this Bible is for. If someone comes to mind, give it. If no one comes to mind, bring it back next week. There's no pressure either way.

The work is the Lord's. The Bible is the seed.

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." — 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV

What we're asking

Three things, in plain words.

  • A venue — Maple Park Church as our gathering place at least once a week
  • An allotted budget — to help draw church and community participation, and to keep Bibles in members' hands
  • Your prayers and spiritual guidance — we cede to the leadership of Maple Park in any matter for the sake of sponsorship

We are not asking the church to start something new. We're asking the church to host what the Lord has already begun.

Why now

A door is opening. The harvest is waiting.

Young adults are leaving churches at the rate the Lord is calling them. Newcomers to faith are finding their way to Maple Park because the Word has been planted there for years. With the church's blessing, we can disciple them in the very neighborhood where Edward grew up.

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" — Romans 10:15 NIV

The closing

Send us. Lead us. Pray over us.

We are honored to serve Jesus with the zeal of servitude. With Maple Park behind us, we believe the Lord will multiply this work beyond what any of us can plan.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations… and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." — Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

Sincerely,
Edward and David — and the team of Seed the Word
