Who is Jesus?

The Bible says…

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

— Matthew 7:7-8 NIV

Jesus Christ: Son of God

An open Bible with golden light falling across the pages

Who He Is

Jesus Christ is the Son of God — the Word who was with God in the beginning and was Himself God. He is the promised Messiah of the Hebrew Scriptures, the eternal Son made known in time, the only path to the Father.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

— John 1:1 NIV

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

— John 14:6 NIV
A single bright star above a calm dark night sky

His Birth

Jesus was born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem, fulfilling ancient prophecy. Though He is fully God, He became fully human — entering our world to walk among us, to feel what we feel, and to bear the weight of being us.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin."

— Hebrews 4:15 NIV
Open hands held palms up in a gesture of compassion and giving

His Life

Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He taught with authority, healed the sick, fed the hungry, and welcomed the outcast. He showed us what love looks like in the world — not as a feeling, but as the laying down of His life.

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."

— 1 John 3:16 NIV
A simple wooden cross silhouetted against a sunset sky

His Death

Jesus willingly went to the cross, taking the punishment our sins deserved. The cross is not a tragedy that happened to Him — it is the substitution He chose for us, foretold centuries earlier through the prophet Isaiah.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all."

— Isaiah 53:5–6 NIV

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

— Romans 6:23 NIV

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

— John 3:16 NIV
A stone tomb entrance with morning light streaming through the opening

His Resurrection

On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin and death forever. His empty tomb is the foundation of our hope — proof that what He said is true, and that everyone who trusts in Him will share in His life.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'"

— John 11:25–26 NIV

His Promised Return

Jesus promised to return to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His eternal kingdom. Until that day He calls every believer to follow Him daily, to live out His pure love, and to make disciples of all nations.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

— Matthew 28:19–20 NIV

Do you want to personally encounter Jesus?

Hear His own voice, the voice of the Good Shepherd who came looking for you:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

— Jesus, Matthew 11:28-29 NIV

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me.”

— Jesus, Revelation 3:20 NIV

You are loved more than you know. He is not far. If your heart is stirring, even a little, that is Him calling you home. You don’t have to clean yourself up first. You don’t have to have the right words. You only have to come.

When you are ready, simply pray something like this in your own words:

“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God who died for my sins and rose again. I’m sorry for the ways I’ve gone my own way. I receive Your forgiveness and I want to follow You. Be my Lord and my Savior. Amen.”

Whether this is the very first time, or you’ve come back home after a long time away, we would love to walk this with you.

A real person on our team will answer — please text if calling is hard. You are not a number to us, you are family. Jesus loves you.

🌱 Our S.E.E.D Story

S.E.E.D. stands for Serve with Grace, Encounter the Word, Embrace Fellowship, and Disciples of all Nations. Our hand-stitched logo below tells our story in nine panels — four S.E.E.D. values, our mission and vision, and the three phases of how a single seed becomes a harvest. Serve with Grace

As we are transformed into the image of Christ, we welcome others with the same grace that Jesus showed us. We serve newcomers to the faith by putting our differences aside to glorify God.

— 2 Corinthians 3

THE Our Mission

THE

Our Mission

To place the living Word of God — Jesus Christ — into the hands of every newcomer we meet, and to walk with them until they are rooted in Him. We share the Gospel in everyday life, give Bibles freely, and disciple new believers through reading, prayer, fellowship, and worship.

— 2 Corinthians 5:20 · Mark 16:15

Ministry panel 6
WORD Our Vision

WORD

Our Vision

A generation that doesn't just hear the Word but knows Him — who love Jesus personally, treasure His scripture deeply, and carry that light into homes, workplaces, and the nations. Our hope is that today's newcomer becomes tomorrow's harvester, for the glory of God alone.

— John 17:3 · Habakkuk 2:14

Phase 1 — Plant the Seed
Phase 1 Plant the Seed

Phase 1

Plant the Seed

We meet newcomers where they are — on the street, at work, in our homes — and share the Gospel simply and honestly. We give away Bibles so the Word of God is in their hands, not just in their memory. This is evangelism: the first seed of faith taking root.

— Luke 8:11 · Mark 4:14

Phase 2 — Water to Grow
Phase 2 Water to Grow

Phase 2

Water to Grow

Once the seed is planted, we walk alongside newcomers through daily Bible reading, weekly fellowship, prayer, and worship. This is discipleship — the slow, faithful work of watering so roots go deep. As Paul reminds us, we plant and water, but God is the one who makes it grow.

— 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 NIV

Phase 3 — Gather the Harvest
Phase 3 Gather the Harvest

Phase 3

Gather the Harvest

As believers mature, we help place them into the body of Christ — a local church, a life group, a calling to serve. Our aim isn't to keep them close to us, but to send them out. The harvest belongs to the Lord, and He calls laborers into it.

— Matthew 9:37-38 · Matthew 28:19-20

How We S.E.E.D.

When we gather as a group — Tuesday evenings, a home study, around a fire — we move through five movements together. They aren't a checklist. They're a rhythm.

Tap a row to expand it.

1. Worship & Prayer

Serve with Grace

We come to God first. Singing and prayer together gather the room. Before we greet one another, we lift our hearts to Him.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

— Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Prayer and worship are woven into everything we do. Got an idea for how we can lead worship better, or a song you'd love us to try?

2. Introduction

Embrace Fellowship

We greet each other. We share what God has been doing this week. The room becomes a body, not a crowd.

Fellowship isn't a building — it's how we show up for each other through the week.

  • Tuesdays — we visit life groups for newcomers to faith.
  • Fridays — we gather as young adults.
  • Sundays — we go to church. Bring a friend, or ask us to come with you to yours — just reach out.

3. Encounter Jesus in the Word

Encounter the Word

We read this week's anchor chapter together. We sit with it. We take a breath when we need one.

Monday through Friday we read one chapter a day together, and on Saturdays we review the week — catching up on missed days and diving deeper as a community.

We began in the New Testament (starting with Matthew) because our ministry is built for newcomers to faith — it's the clearest place to meet Jesus. As we grow together, we're starting to weave the Old Testament into our Study Saturdays — pulling out the passages that give the New Testament its depth, so when we read Jesus, we see Him echoed all the way back.

Our weekly rhythm is built around two dedicated days:

  • Tuesdays are for newcomers — a gentle, welcoming space where questions are safe and faith is new.
  • Saturdays are for going deeper — we recap the week's reading, dig into the parts we skimmed, and let the Word shape the next week.
See This Week's Plan
4. Reflection

Embrace Fellowship

We sit with what we just read and walk through four questions together — one for each S.E.E.D. value.

  1. Where did we see grace? (Serve with Grace)
  2. What does this say about God and us? (Encounter the Word)
  3. What does it call us to as a body? (Embrace Fellowship)
  4. Who needs to hear this? (Disciples of all Nations)

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

— Romans 12:2 NIV

Reflection is where Scripture becomes shared life. We don't always have neat answers — sometimes a question lingers for a week. That's the Spirit at work, not a problem to solve.

5. How We Outreach

Disciples of all Nations

We share what's coming — ministry events, goals, who needs prayer, who we're going to this week. We pray over it. We linger over food and drinks. The meeting ends when we walk out the door — and we walk out sent.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations… and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

— Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

We give away Bibles — on the street, to newcomers, to anyone who wants one but can't afford one. The same bundles can also be supported through our store, which lets one person's gift become another person's first Bible.

Got an idea for who we should reach next, or a community we haven't gone to yet? Every initiative we run started as someone speaking up at the end of a meeting.

Suggest an Outreach Idea

This rhythm is gathered from the lived traditions of our team — with thanks to our God who shaped how we meet.
